Fiber
Pea Fiber
The fibrous part of peas, added to foods for fibre and for fullness.
Pea fiber comes mainly from the outer layer of the pea. It’s mostly insoluble fibre, used to help stool form and to lower a food’s calories, including in weight-control foods.
Fibre isn’t one thing. Research on alternative fibre sources in pet food shows that sources differ in how fermentable they are and in how they affect stools and digestibility, so the amount and the source both matter.
