Tapioca Starch

Starch from the cassava root, used to bind food and for energy.

Tapioca comes from the cassava root. It’s almost pure starch, with very little protein, fibre or vitamins, and it’s used to bind kibble and thicken wet foods without using grain. It’s common in grain-free recipes, and it’s rarely named as an allergen.

Raw cassava contains compounds that release cyanide, but processing removes them.
