Water
Added so a wet food can be mixed, cooked and canned.
Wet foods need water to be mixed, pumped and cooked in the can. “Water sufficient for processing” means the maker adds as much as the process needs. Broths do much the same job with some flavour added.
Because the list runs by weight, water or broth often comes first in a wet food. That says nothing about nutrition. To compare a wet food with a dry one, look at the figures on a dry matter basis, which take the water out. iPickPet works these out for you on each product.
