Fruit or vegetable
Carrots
A vegetable that adds beta-carotene and fibre.
Carrots supply beta-carotene, which dogs turn into vitamin A, and fibre. The list runs by weight, so where it sits tells you roughly how much there is. Well down the list, the amount is small.
Cats make little vitamin A from beta-carotene, so for them carrots are mainly fibre. Their presence on a list says more about the recipe than about what your pet gets from it.
