Sunflower Oil

Sunflower oil supplies energy and, in most types, plenty of linoleic acid, an omega-6 fat that dogs and cats must get from food for healthy skin and coat. Cats also need arachidonic acid, which only animal fats supply, so a cat food can’t rely on plant oil alone.

High-oleic sunflower oil is lower in linoleic acid. Sunflower oil contains almost no omega-3, so makers often pair it with fish or flax oil.
