Vitamin
Pyridoxine Hydrochloride
The usual added form of vitamin B6, which the body needs to use protein.
Pyridoxine hydrochloride is vitamin B6 in a stable form. The body needs B6 to break down and rebuild amino acids, so the need goes up with the protein in the food, and cats need more of it than dogs.
Like the other B vitamins it dissolves in water and is partly lost in cooking, which is why makers add it even to foods with plenty of meat. Its name looks alarming on a label, but it’s a routine vitamin source.
