Dried Kelp
A dried seaweed that adds minerals, iodine especially.
Kelp is a brown seaweed, dried and ground. It supplies minerals and is a strong natural source of iodine, the mineral the thyroid needs. It’s used in small amounts, sometimes to add a “whole food” source of minerals.
The iodine in seaweed varies a lot from batch to batch and species to species, so a maker must account for it. Too much iodine can upset the thyroid. Cats on an iodine-limited diet shouldn’t have kelp added. Ask your veterinarian.
